Reminds me of an old lighthouse that was also a research station.
By what right does the wolf judge the lion?
lava poured over ice
This is a preposterous amount of lava.
“what did you do today?”
“made lava and poured it on ice for science”
its particularly pretty around 01:02 aaah (also the resulting black material is pretty as well)

Dear uncle is warm and fuzzy and carries me across icebergs.

“They (the Petty Dwarves) loved none but themselves, and if they feared and hated the Orcs, they hated the Eldar no less, and the Exiles most of all.”
Ukrainian Valerii Danevych makes his functional wrist watches almost entirely out of wood, with the sole exception of a metal spring needed to propel the movement. According to Unique Watch Guide, he mostly uses birch because of its strength and resistance, but also more exotic wood such as juniper and bamboo.

Something about a very minor character
I had a lot of different ideas about who to write about for this one, since I am the type of person who gets unnecessarily invested in minor characters ALL THE TIME, in every show that I watch or book that I read. Of course it’s especially bad when you’re talking about Tolkien. In the end I decided to go for a character I adore, but who I have never once seen discussed on this website. I have only mentioned him once or twice in passing, although he will be a major character in my Last Alliance story
once I write it.On that rather self-indulgent note, I give you: Ohtar.
bla bla bla
this brings me to the point of why do SS friends still follow my blog, I have been such a relapse fan lately :’(
Here’s the start of the sort-of bridge piece between the Angrod narrating about his brother the suicidal Rage Bunny and the scenes of Andreth narrating life of the War Widow who never got the wedding (and also an opening to the Alternate Universe of “Not naming my daughter Nómwen”).
Fluff. Fluff. Plot-less fluff.

In the Chamber of Mazarbul - by Tulikoura
“The world is grey, the mountains old,
The forge’s fire is ashen-cold;
No harp is wrung, no hammer falls:
The darkness dwells in Durin’s halls;
The shadow lies upon his tomb
In Moria, in Khazad-dûm.”
Evangeline De Brassard / Dragon Age Templar
Less than 11 days until PAX Prime 2012 and I’m plugging along on detail work and prop making. Figured I would share a couple of photos taken during Geek Girl Con since the armor is for all intents and purposes wearable.
I could ramble on for hours about what an incredible experience GeekGirl Con was this year and about how much fun I had but I’ll spare you the gushing… for now. I am so honored to have had the opportunity to meet and reconnect with the wonderful folks that crossed my path while I was there.
Costume Update:
I do have more WIP shots to show that involve assembly/attachment of the armor and my adventures with sewing. I’ll be honest, I don’t have the first clue what I’m doing when it comes to sewing so I’m playing it by ear and hoping for the best. I have nothing but the utmost respect for folks who work primarily with sewing. I’m far more comfortable making the armor parts and using glue on things. ;)
